Crossing Space and Time: Figurative Ceramics by Jee Eun Lee

The Gandee Gallery is proud to present Crossing Space and Time: Figurative Ceramics by Jee Eun Lee. Lee's ethereal figurative ceramics are inspired by nature, memory, and dreams. Her aim is to communicate “a calm, serene moment of meditation during our chaotic times”.

You are invited to come see the show in person during regular business hours or by appointment. All of the work in the show will be available for purchase online after it's installed.

Jee Eun Lee is a Professor of Art at Northern Kentucky University and received an MFA from Syracuse University and from Ewha Women’s University in Seoul, Korea.

Into the Woods: Fiber Artist Ann Clarke

The Into the Woods exhibition features a survey of Ann Clarke’s fiber art, from large scale wall hangings to wearables. Her recent works explore "reconstructed narratives - memory and meaning", are influenced by the intersection of past and present, and her changing relationship with time.

Originally from Rochester, NY, Clarke received an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design and BFA degree in painting and printmaking from the University of Michigan. She spent the majority of her career in academia as a higher education administrator and faculty member at Syracuse University. From 2008 to 2016, she was Dean of Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts. She is retiring from her teaching position at the end of the Spring '24 semester. The opening reception will be a celebration of her amazing career and accomplishments as an educator, administrator, and artist.

Tufting Workshop with Renee Patterson

Have you been dying to get your hands on a tufting machine and give it a whirl? On May 4, from 11-4:00, join Renee at the Gandee Gallery for a one-day small group tufting workshop where you learn and utilize the basics of tufting to create your own rug or wall hanging! You bring a design and all materials, including yarn and an individual tufting workspace, each with an AK-I tufting machine and a 2.5'x 2.5' frame for use during the workshop will be provided. Sally Hootnick- Encaustic Painting

Also on view at the Gandee Gallery is encaustic paintings by featured artist, Sally Hootnick, a painter based in Syracuse and Chautauqua, New York. She is deeply inspired by the natural world and explores both abstract and realistic representations of nature, often blending the two in unexpected ways. Click HERE to see her work on view.
